On May 10, 2017, then Chief Justice J S Khehar had set July 3, 2017, deadline for making the Supreme Court paperless by restricting the filing of petitions and appeals to soft copies. “It will save tons of paper used in filing of appeals and greatly help the environment,” he had said.
