Lucknow police caught a passenger and his two handlers at Chaudhary Charan Singh international airport with 1.60 grams of gold that was concealed in capsules inside the courier's rectum. Customs failed to detect the gold, allowing the passenger to walk out of the airport. The passenger and his handlers were handed over to the customs department. The customs assistant commissioner explained that it is difficult to detect gold concealed in this manner, so they rely on profiling passengers.
