National award-winning singer Bhavatharini, daughter of Ilaiyaraaja, has succumbed to stomach cancer. She was undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in Sri Lanka. She received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2000 for a song composed by her father.
